Abstract

The tourism sector has experienced considerable global growth among economic sectors, considering factors such as expansion and diversification (Naranjo et al., 2019). In addition to the various economic advantages it offers, this sector fosters social exchange, contributes to heritage preservation, and enhances the quality of life of the community (ESDAI, 2023). It is concluded that the more interconnected the value chain, the greater the value it will achieve, which is a determining factor in the price consumers are willing to pay (Santos, 2022). Furthermore, it will allow for greater benefits for users in meeting their needs and thus gaining a competitive advantage (Porter, 1986). Tourism activities are recognized as a sustainable mechanism if the location possesses cultural and ecotourism potential, as is the case in the department of Boyacá (Rodríguez, 2021), making it necessary to study and research the identification of this potential. An analysis of the positive and negative impacts on the environment and social context is also required (Rodríguez, 2021). Given the above, the mission of the tourism supply chain is to fulfill the tourist's need for a meaningful and representative experience in a location far from their home. This involves a process of organizing, planning, and executing activities, for which the tourism industry must specifically cater to the tourist's market niche.
